Zap Zap Math Kindergarten is a fun way for your young ones to get their practice time in. With three game modes to pick from, you fly a rocket around space to pick different planets. Each planet has various scenes. In short, if you need a way for your kids to practice adding/subtracting, counting, and recognizing shapes, this is a great solution.
The game features great graphics throughout. However, one thing to note is that you will need to be there to initially set it up. It will require an internet connection to register the game with your email. Once set up, it walks you through how to play the levels. The game mixes it up throughout, so they won’t make you do the same thing repeatedly. One interesting thing to note is that the game records how long it takes you to complete each level, so you as a parent can review your young one’s progress.
The game modes include counting, adding, and shapes. For the counting mode, students have to tap on the object to count it, until they count to the given number. They then tap the green button and are greeted with an exciting congrats screen. Each level is similar in that they have to click on the green button to finish. While it may take some getting used to, we like that they have to submit their answer, rather than being able to randomly guess as fast.
With adding, one of the levels they have to provide the numbers to complete the sum. One level presents this as a broken train track. In order to fix the track, you have to complete the sums. Otherwise the train will crash!
Finally, shapes provide a way to repetitively practice finding and differentiating between 2D and 3D shapes. It also makes you practice related vocabulary, along with counting sides and edges.
3 unique game modes with multiple levels.
